Beat Happening
Beat Happening was an American indie pop band formed in 1982 in Olympia,
Washington. The group consisted of Calvin Johnson on guitar and vocals, Heather
Lewis on drums, guitar, and vocals, and Bret Lunsford on guitar and drums. The
members began recording in 1983 after meeting at the Evergreen State College.
Their first release was the five-song EP Three Tea Breakfast, recorded in Tokyo
in 1984. Their self-titled debut studio album, Beat Happening, was released in
