Barry Adamson is a British musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist born on
June 11, 1958 in Moss Side, a suburb of Manchester. From an early age, he was
interested in art, music and film, writing his first song "Brain Pain" at the
age of 10. After briefly studying graphic design, he immersed himself in the
Manchester punk scene of the late 1970s and began playing bass in the post-punk
band Magazine (1977-1981), contributing to albums such as Real Life (1978) and
