Banda Maguey, a Mexican music group from Villa Corona, Jalisco, was formed in
1991 by Fernando Guardado. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of
Ernesto Solano as vocalist and composer. In 1994, their breakthrough came with
the single "El alacrán", which topped charts in Mexico and the United States.
This success led to the release of their debut album Tumbando Caña under MCM
Records. The band later signed with Fonovisa and released albums such as La
Estrella De Los Bailes (1995) and Tu Eterno Enamorado (1996), both featuring hit
singles like "Si tu no estás" and "Pero ...
