Banda Maguey is a Mexican technobanda group from Villa Corona, Jalisco, formed
in 1991 by Fernando Guardado Rosales. The band's lineup solidified with the
addition of lead singer Ernesto Solano, who composed several of their songs.
They released their debut album, Tumbando Caña (1993), under MCM Records. Their
breakthrough came in 1994 when the single "El alacrán" gained radio dominance
and topped charts in Mexico and the United States. The band later signed with
Fonovisa and released albums such as La Estrella de los Bailes (1995), featuring
the hit "Si tú no estás", and Tu Eter...
