Singer, comic troubadour and actor, Bach is best known for his interpretations of troop tunes and the duet he formed with Henry-Laverne. Born in Fontanil-Cornillon on November 9, 1882, Charles-Joseph Pasquier (real name) made his stage debut in 1899, during the Belle-Epoque, but made a name for himself during the First World War with his military marches and comic tunes, including the classics "Avec Bidasse" (1913), "La Madelon " created by Polin, and "La Caissière du grand café" the following year.
