Azul Violeta, a Mexican rock band from Guadalajara, Jalisco, was formed in the
late 1980s by Ugo Rodríguez and César “Vampiro” López, beginning with
performances in local art galleries. After several lineup changes, a more stable
formation emerged in the early 1990s, including members such as Alejandro Pérez
“Ork,” Iván González, and Yuri González. In 1994, the band signed with EMI and
recorded their debut album, América, at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios,
featuring the single “Sólo por hoy” along with tracks like “Renacer.” The
release led to a continental tour across Mexico...
