Azeem
Azeem Ismail, known as Azeem, is an American rapper and performance poet who
emerged from a Jamaican and Panamanian heritage. He formed his first band,
Telefunken, in 1991 and later won an open‑mic contest that led to a PBS special
and a book deal. In 2000, he issued the album Garage Opera, followed by Craft
Classic (2001), whose single "Rubber Glue" reached number 2 on the CMJ radio rap
chart. He also toured Europe with the Bomb Hip‑Hop Tour and collaborated with
