Azawi
Priscilla Zawedde, known professionally as Azawi, is a Ugandan singer-songwriter
and dancer. Born in Kampala, Uganda, on 2 February 1996, Zawedde graduated with
a Bachelor of Commerce from Makerere University. After joining a band in 2015
and writing songs for other musicians, she signed with the Swangz Avenue record
label in August 2019. She achieved her musical breakthrough in January 2020 with
her debut single, “Quinamino”. Swangz Avenue subsequently released her debut
album, Lo Fit, in 2020, which was followed by African Music in 2021 and Sankofa.
