DJ and EDM producer Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, was born on September
8, 1989 in Stockholm, Sweden. He began producing his own house songs and remixes
in his own room at the age of 16 and publishing them on the internet. The
artist's name is derived from the deepest level of Buddhist hell. As the name
was already taken on the social media platform MySpace, he added another "i".
