Jirō Atsumi (born August 15, 1952, in Adachi, Tokyo) is a veteran Japanese enka
singer known for his heartfelt vocal style and dedication to the traditional
"enka-shi" way of performing. Under the stage name "Atsumi Ken," given by
martial artist Masutatsu Ōyama, he debuted in 1975 with "Karate Dō Michi", a
film insert song. In 1976, he officially debuted with "Kawaii Omae" through Sony
Music. His major breakthrough came in 1978 with the release of "Yumeoi Sake",
