Ascendant Vierge is a Franco-Belgian duo made up of singer-performer Mathilde Fernandez and Parisian techno DJ Paul Seul. Paul Seul, whose real name is Paul Orzoni, founded the Casual Gabberz collective and label, a label dedicated to "gabber", an electronic music subgenre of hardcore techno. Mathilde Fernandez, a fan of the label and particularly of Paul Seul, asked the latter to remix her track " Oubliette", which appeared on the latter's hypersition EP (2019).
