Asami Kobayashi (born November 29, 1953 in Tokyo) is a Japanese singer, actress,
and model. Her ennui, urban atmosphere, and quiet singing voice, which were
distinctly different from the idol image of the time, gave her a unique
presence. After her early career, on April 21, 1984, she released a cover of
Gazebo's song "Ame no Oto wa Chopin no Chokin no Mukashi" (The Sound of Rain is
