Arundhati Roy
Arundhati Roy, born Suzanna Arundhati Roy in Shillong, India, on November 24,
1961, is an Indian author, essayist, and political activist. After studying
architecture and writing screenplays, she achieved international acclaim with
her debut novel, The God of Small Things, published in 1997, which won the
Booker Prize for Fiction. She authored non-fiction works addressing political
and social issues, including The Cost of Living in 1999, Power Politics in 2002,
and Public Power in the Age of Empire in 2004. In 2017, she published her second
novel, The Ministry of Utmost Happiness...
