Arturo Cavero Velásquez, known as Arturo "Zambo" Cavero, was born on November
29, 1940, in Lima, Peru. He began his musical journey at the age of 14, playing
percussion with Juan Criado. Cavero's career took a significant turn in the
1970s when he started singing and collaborated with guitarist Óscar Avilés.
Their partnership produced notable songs such as "Cada domingo a las doce,
después de la misa" and "Contigo Perú", which became an unofficial second
national anthem of Peru. In 1982, during the FIFA World Cup, Cavero and Avilés
performed "Contigo Perú" for the Peruvian nation...
