Rico, was a singer and composer known for his contributions to Puerto Rican
folkloric music. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto
Rico in San Juan in 1966. In the early 1970s, Cabán Vale began setting his poems
to music and founded the band Taone. His compositions often featured traditional
