Anna Reynolds
Anna Reynolds, born on June 5, 1930 in Kent, England, was an English classical
mezzo‑soprano and contralto singer in opera and concert. She studied piano and
later voice at the Royal Academy of Music. She made her operatic debut in 1960
in Parma as Suzuki in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and entered the English stage
in 1962 as Geneviève in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande at Glyndebourne. Her
career included performances at Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, Bayreuth,
and the Salzburg Festival, with roles such as Fricka, Waltraute, and Andromache.
