Anna Wiktoria German-Tucholska, known professionally as Anna German, was born on
February 14, 1936, in Urgench. She gained significant popularity as a Polish
singer in Poland and the Soviet Union during the 1960s and 1970s. German began
her music career at the Kalambur Theater while studying at the Geological
Institute of the University of Wrocław. Her breakthrough came when she won the
1964 2nd National Polish Song Festival in Opole with "Tańczące Eurydyki"
