Animotion, an American synth-pop band from Los Angeles, California, formed in
1983. The group emerged from the remnants of a retro science-fiction band called
Red Zone and initially consisted of Astrid Plane, Bill Wadhams, Paul Antonelli,
Charles Ottavio, David "Frenchy" O'Brien, and Don Kirkpatrick. Their
breakthrough came with the release of their self-titled debut album Animotion in
November 1984, which featured the international hit "Obsession." The song
