Angus & Julia Stone formed in Sydney, Australia, in 2006, bringing together
siblings Angus Stone on vocals and guitar and Julia Stone on vocals, guitar, and
trumpet. Raised in Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, they began performing
each other’s independently written songs at open-mic events before recording the
EP Chocolates & Cigarettes in their father’s living room. Released in 2006, the
EP featured “Paper Aeroplane” and helped the duo secure agreements with EMI
Music Australia and Independiente Records in the United Kingdom. After
