Born in Athens, Greece on June 22, 1954, Angélique Ionatos was a singer,
guitarist, and composer. Her repertoire focused on classical and modern Greek
texts. In 1969, her parents fled the dictatorial Greek regime and moved to
Liège, Belgium before settling in France. At the age of 18, she had formed a duo
with her brother Photis Ionatos and recorded the French-language album
Résurrection (1972), which won the Grand Prix award from the Charles-Cros
