Ángel Domingo Emilio D'Agostino was an Argentine tango pianist, composer, and conductor born on May 25, 1900, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began playing piano during his childhood, studied at the conservatory, and performed with a trio that featured Juan D'Arienzo. In 1920, he formed his own orchestra at the Palais de Glace, performing tango and jazz, and accompanying silent films. After meeting singer Ángel Vargas in 1932, the duo partnered in 1940 to record 93 tracks for the RCA Victor label, including “Tres esquinas”, “Agua florida”, and “Mano Blanca”.
