André Hazes
André Gerardus Hazes, born June 30, 1951, in Amsterdam, was a Dutch levenslied
singer. Discovered at age eight singing at the Albert Cuyp market, his
breakthrough came in 1976 with the single "Eenzame kerst", which sold 70,000
copies in three weeks. He released his debut studio album, Zo is het leven, in
1977. In 1979, he signed with EMI, subsequently issuing the albums 'N vriend
(1980) and Gewoon André (1981), the latter reaching Number 1 on the Dutch
charts. His hit singles included "Een beetje verliefd" (1981) and the 1988
football anthem "Wij houden van Oranje". Hazes perform...
