Amparanoia
Amparanoïa was a Spanish alternative Latino rock band formed in Madrid in 1996
by singer Amparo Sánchez, guitarist Robert Johnson, and Piluka. Initially
performing under the name Los Amparos del Blues, the group changed its name to
Amparanoïa in mid-1997 after Sánchez met Manu Chao in 1995. Its debut album, El
Poder de Machín (1997), featured contributions from Chao. The group's subsequent
albums included Feria furiosa (1999), which showed Cuban influences, and Somos
viento (2002), a collaborative work with musicians from various countries
