Karim Chmielinski (born 1956, Los Angeles, California) was the frontman of the
American punk/metal group Amen, known for blending aggressive punk energy with
heavy metal riffs. After the dissolution of his earlier band Disorderly Conduct,
he formed Amen in 1994, releasing the debut album Slave that year, which
featured a single‑person effort by Karim Chmielinski and attracted producer Ross
Robinson. Signing with Roadrunner Records, the band issued the self‑titled album
Amen in 1999, followed by We Have Come for Your Parents in 2000 under Virgin
