Alondra de la Parra, born on October 31, 1980, in New York City, is a Mexican
conductor. She began her musical studies at age seven with piano and later took
up the cello. De la Parra studied composition at the Centro de Investigación y
Estudios Musicales (CIEM) in Mexico before moving to New York City to attend the
Manhattan School of Music, where she earned degrees in Piano and Orchestral
Conducting. In 2004, during her studies, she founded the Orquesta Filarmónica de
