French singer Alma (born Alexandra Maquet in Lyon on September 27, 1988) began by studying piano and playing her own compositions as a teenager. After a detour to the United States, where her parents had moved, she returned to France and set her sights on a career in international marketing, before changing her mind and turning to music.
