Allen Lowe
Allen Lowe, born April 5, 1954, in Massapequa Park, New York, is an American
guitarist, saxophonist, composer, and music historian whose musical journey
began with saxophone lessons at age fifteen in New York. After briefly studying
at Yale and earning a master’s degree in Library Sciences from St. John’s
University, Lowe and his wife moved to New Haven where he became active in the
local jazz scene. He released At the Moment of Impact in 1990 and later produced
Jews in Hell: Radical Jewish Acculturation with Matthew Shipp, Lewis Porter,
Randy Sandke, Marc Ribot, Scott Robinson, ...
