Alice Faye was an American actress and singer born in 1915 in New York City. Born Alice Jeanne Leppert, she began her career as a chorus girl before appearing on Broadway in the 1931 edition of George White's Scandals. She achieved her film break in 1934 when she replaced Lilian Harvey in the film version of George White's Scandals, eventually becoming a musical star for 20th Century Fox under the direction of Darryl F.
