Aleksander Malinin, one of the best performers of traditional Russian romances,
was born in Sverdlovsk (USSR) on November 16, 1958. He graduated from the
Sverdlovsk Philharmonic vocal class. His solo debut took place in 1987, during
the Moscow rock festival where Malinin performed «Черный ворон» ("Black Raven")
and «Ямщик, не гони лошадей» ("Coachman, Do Not Ride Horses"), mixing rock with
