Alex Greenwald is an American musician and actor born on October 9, 1979. He
achieved professional recognition after forming the rock band Phantom Planet in
1994 with musicians including Sam Farrar and Jason Schwartzman. The group
released the track “California” (2002), which served as the theme song for the
television series The O.C. Greenwald was also a member of the ensemble
blackblack and the supergroup Phases, with whom he released the studio recording
