Aleš Březina

Aleš Březina, born 17 September 1965 in Teplice, Czech Republic, was a Czech
composer and musicologist who served as director of the Bohuslav Martinů
Institute from 1994. He studied violin at the Pilsen Conservatory and pursued
musicology at Charles University, the University of Basel, and Berlin, focusing
on Bohuslav Martinů and producing works. Březina led the critical edition of
Bohuslav Martinů’s oeuvre, reconstructed the original version of The Greek
Passion, which premiered at the 1999 Bregenz Festival. His film scores include
