Japanese singer and songwriter Morii Aimi, known professionally as Aimyon, was born on March 6, 1995 in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo, Japan. During her teenage years, she began learning the acoustic guitar and started writing songs, gradually sharing them on social media, catching the attention of the record label Lastrum Music Entertainment. In early 2015, Aimyon wrote the lyrics for the song "Time Goes By" by the Japanese group Johnny's West.
