vice-president, José María Fuentes, with the express goal of crafting Colombia’s
response to guitar-driven tropical styles emerging from Peru and Ecuador, as
heard in bands like Los Mirlos. Their self-titled debut album La Danza de los
Mirlos was released in 1973 and became a defining moment, showcasing lush,
