Yunyong Opakul (born 9 November 1954 in Mueang Suphan Buri District, Suphan Buri
Province, Thailand) is a Thai singer‑songwriter, guitarist, and activist best
known as the frontman of the rock band Carabao. He studied architecture in
Bangkok and the Philippines, where he met future bandmates Keo and Kai; the trio
formed Carabao in 1981. The band’s breakthrough came with the 1984 album Made in
Thailand, which sold 5 million copies. Subsequent albums included Mang Force One
