Acacia was a multi-cultural British experimental pop band. The group included
Alexander "Blackmoth" Nilere on vocals and guitar, Guy Sigsworth on keyboards,
Maurizio Anzalone on guitar, Talvin Singh on percussion, and Ansuman Biswas on
tabla and percussion. Acacia released their debut single "Maddening Shroud" in
1994, followed by a cover of Morrissey's "The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I
Get". In 1995, they signed with Radar Records and released the single "Hate".
