Aaron Collins was an American rhythm and blues singer and songwriter born on September 3, 1930, in Arkansas. He received early musical training in church and performed with a gospel group in Michigan before relocating to California. Collins reached wider visibility as a member of the doo wop ensembles the Cadets and the Jacks. He performed lead vocals for hit singles including “Why Don’t You Write Me?” (1955) and “Stranded in the Jungle” (1956).
